Key accountability (Main purpose of this job):
Reporting to the Head of Facilities, this role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the school’s students, staff, visitors, and property. This role involves developing and implementing security policies, managing daily security operations, and ensuring compliance with local regulations to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
Responsibilities (Key areas of Responsibilities):
~ Oversee the daily security operations of the school, including monitoring access points, patrolling premises, and managing surveillance systems
~ Ensure the presence of security personnel during school hours, events, and activities
~ Coordinate emergency response procedures and manage incidents efficiently
~ Develop, implement, and update security policies and procedures in line with Singapore’s security regulations and best practices
~ Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
~ Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats
~ Train staff and students on security protocols and emergency procedures
~ Liaise with security service providers, ensuring that their performance meets the school’s standards and requirements
~ Manage and maintain security surveillance systems, including CCTV and alarm systems
~ Monitor security systems to detect and respond to unauthorized activities or breaches
~ Stay updated on advancements in security technology and recommend upgrades as needed
~ Provide training to security personnel on school policies, emergency procedures, and customer service.
~ Conduct investigations and provide timely and accurate reports of any security breaches (e.g. theft or misconduct etc), This includes proper documentation, risk assessment and ensuring necessary follow up actions are taken
~ Be the key liaison with Jurong West NPC and other ministries on any collaborative objectives.
~ Carry out any other adhoc tasks as assigned by superior
Requirements:
~ Valid.Senior Security Supervisor Licence issued by the Singapore Police Force's Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD)
~ Minimum 4 years’ experience in security operations, preferably in an educational or similar environment
~ Strong knowledge of Singapore’s security regulations and experience working with local enforcement agencies
~ Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
~ Proficiency in using security technology and systems
~ Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
~ Able to be on standby 24/7 for emergencies
